This Is Not Ayurveda
You might have read a lot of articles and stories, telling- this is Ayurveda, that is Ayurveda, Ayurveda looks like this or that. But the problem is- none knows what Ayurveda is not, so that we can find that “what” others are saying- AYURVEDA…is not Ayurveda! In the world of positivity, negativity prevails sometimes. You know how to drive is not enough; you should know how you should not drive- to become a good driver. So let’s find….. what Ayurveda is not!
Home remedies
Ayurveda looks like home remedies- because most of the Ayurvedic Medicines- are available with you in your kitchen. Believe me everything in Ayurveda is edible/food….not like allopath medicines, where none is edible. This makes some people to sell Ayurveda to you as a system of home remedies.
Massage Therapy
To apply oils to the body, in different ways to the body, is not Ayurveda. This is just a part of Ayurveda part and that too in decimals, alone. So you need to confuse with image of massage with Ayurveda.
Pouring Oil on head
Some has delivered Ayurveda to us in name of pouring of oils on forehead- Shirodhara. Dhara has its effects, but it is not Ayurveda. Ayurveda is an ocean and this is a drop.
Pressing some points (Marmas)
There are many people who sell some message by pressing some points on the body- Marmas. Marmas are the points, when pressed (doesn’t matter how genteelly) can bring some deformity in the body. This is not Ayurveda, no need to repeat this, once again.
Cooking the foods
They say that Ayurveda tells to cook and this is enough to do with Ayurveda. Ayurveda tells a lot of other things too. But they have not read those, so they don’t have words for that.
System to immortal you
No, nothing like this. Ayurveda is not about death, Ayurveda is about life. They make money through your fears, because they know you can pay anything to “pacify” your fears.
Taking some herbs by choice
Ayurveda is not about taking some herbs by your choice. You need proper guidance to select and deselect the things, in name of Ayurveda.
Saffron Colour
There is a breed which tells you that wearing saffron, doing some Yajyas and attaching some Hindu Gods on wall- is Ayurveda! Ayurveda and Hinduism have only one similarity, both are about how to live life (all religions, tell same). Colour, haircuts and wearing has nothing to do with Ayurveda!
Pulse Reading
Some people think that pulse reading and to teach pulse reading is easy like saying Pulse Diagnosis. Ayurveda has eight fold system of diagnosis- pulse is one- next time – ask them what and where are rest seven systems?
